WHO ARE WE?
Sociology NORTH is a collective of individuals, based at the University of Sunderland, who are passionate about putting Sociology into action!

We want to challenge the idea that Sociology is a 'useless' degree, whilst making clear links between Sociology, employability and every day life.
​
Alongside this, we now have the capability to be used as a catalyst for members to develop their own Sociologically focused projects, that will benefit the wider community.
​
And finally, typical ideologies around 'northern' have been developed by those in the South, so we would like to provide our own narratives surrounding what is meant by 'the North'.

THE BLOG WRITING RETREAT
Members of Sociology NORTH recently attended a three day writing retreat, to craft written blogs. You can find these under the 'Blogs' tab at the top of this webpage. We will be releasing the work of our members once a month.
